We find plenty of excuses why God can’t use us to do anything important. “I’m a nobody.” “I’m not smart enough, old enough, bold enough, _________ enough.” It’s surprisingly easy to fill in the blank and conclude, “God. Can’t. Use. Me.” But God has been using nobodies, has beens, and wallflowers since the dawn of creation. Maybe that is because God sees something in us that we fail to see in ourselves: the potential for greatness. God looks past timidity and sees boldness; He looks beyond a humble education and sees wisdom; He ignores our own self-insignificance and sees heroism. Maybe you’ve always been everyone’s last pick, but that doesn’t mean God has overlooked you. Maybe, instead, he ‘s been preparing you for something great.
