Grow

Bill Hull, a prominent proponent of discipleship says growing in Christ is like being a child and growing up.

When we are infants, it is appropriate to be fed; clearly, you’re unable to feed yourself. As you grow older, eventually you learn to feed yourself. Eventually you learn to cook and even feed others.

But, if we’re honest, many of us don’t approach faith that way. We come to church expecting to “be fed.” (We even use those words.) We never learn to feed ourselves and we never learn to feed others. Unless that changes, though, not only will you never grow, but South Lansing Christian Church will never accomplish our vision to “reconnect our community to God’s story, one person at a time.”

We are challenging you to make 2015 a year of spectacular spiritual growth. We want your faith to grow more than ever before! In order to accomplish that, we’re asking you to make a commitment to growth that includes seeking, studying and serving God.

The “Read, Set Grow!” card that we have included with this is your opportunity to stake your claim to exponential spiritual growth in 2015. Please prayerfully fill it out and return it to us so we can pray with you and help you be accountable to becoming the mature Christian that God has called you to be.
