Josh hails from Grand Rapids Michigan where he was born, raised and taught to fish. A graduate of East Kentwood High School, he pursued degrees in Graphic Design and Elementary Education. Neither of which he received.
In the summers of '05 and '06, he found a love for Montana and received a call into Children's Ministry. This all happened while living on the Blackfeet Indian reservation in Heart Butte, Montana and working for Youthworks.
These experiences led him to attending Great Lakes Christian College where he graduated from in 2010. After completing an internship at SLCC, he served as Children's Minister at DeWitt Christian Church from January of 2008 to August 2013.
Josh and his sweetheart, Alli, have been married for over 11 marvelous years. Though Josh would like to spend all their leisure time fishing, they wind up playing a lot of Legos and going on family walks.
Walter Neuenschwander is the newest member of the South Lansing Christian Church staff and serves as our Young Adult Minister. Walter and his wife, Jamie, are originally from Michigan and attended Great Lakes Christian College and Michigan State University. Walter and Jamie have three kids. Their family enjoys outdoor activities, and can often be found somewhere fishing, camping, hiking, or just going for a Saturday morning run.
Walter’s ministry focuses on helping high school students and young adults navigate the critical transition between high school and whatever comes next. He accomplishes that by providing leadership for Modified, SLCC’s high school ministry, and by fostering a network of college / career-age small groups called Thrive.
