Not to Be Served

Current Series | April 7 - April 28

In teaching his disciples, Jesus is very clear that whoever wants to be great in God’s kingdom must be the servant of all. We believe that things are still the same today, and that every follower of Jesus should expect – not to be served – but to serve.

We have a few ways you can connect with the community throughout the week. Check us out at our online Facebook Campus or YouVersion.

Special Needs Small Group

Fellowship Opportunity | First & Third Sunday of the MOnth | 6pm - 8pm

We believe that every person is a child of God, and should be encouraged to seek, study, and serve God! Our ministry to people with special needs is a new a twice-per-month small group on Sunday evenings. We meet from 6-8pm in the Fireside Room at church on the first and third Sundays of each month.

Women’s Spring Celebration

Fellowship Opportunity | April 26 | 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM | $20 | Great Lakes Christian College

The speaker for the 2024 Women’s Spring Celebration is Rebekah Allman from Indianapolis, IN speaking on the theme, “Holding On: A Musical Testimony.”

Rebekah, a mom of three boys, has served in ministry along side her husband, Adam (a Christian counselor/clinical director of NewDay), since they both graduated from Bible college. The sudden death and loss of her husband, Adam, left her and her three boys shocked, devastated, and in great grief and pain. Hear Rebekah’s story through song and testimony of how God has brought, and is continuing to bring, healing, comfort, and hope as she and her boys hold on to Jesus in the suffering. Through her love and ministry of music, God has shown His great faithfulness and has brought hope in her deepest grief.

We are looking forward to a wonderful buffet meal and a great program and fellowship. The SLCC Women’s Ministry is having a bus from SLCC to GLCC. Register on the GLCC website and then book your space on the SLCC bus.

Green Team Work Day

SERVE Opportunity | May 4 | 9Am - Noon

The weather is finally (we hope) working out its mood swings.  Soon we will be mowing grass and planting Mother’s Day flowers.  To be ready for all of that, our Green Team is scheduling a WORK DAY for Saturday, May 4, from 9am to 12pm. We'll clean up the landscape beds around the building and prune bushes. Bring your own tools if you have them to supplement what the church has. Sign up this Sunday at the Promo Kiosk (in the auditorium where the coffee used to be) or email greenteam@seekstudyserve.org.

Kid’s City - Kid Builders

Serve Opportunity | Sundays

Think back to your childhood. Who was that one person who was not part of your family who had an influence on you? Was it a school teacher? Was it someone from church? How are you living out what they did for you? Serving in Kids City is a perfect way to be an influence. We have plenty of opportunities for you to invest in the spiritual lives of our kids once a month (or more if you would like). For more information email our Children’s Minister, Greta at greta@seekstudyserve.org

Generosity

Generosity is one of our core values. We never look more like Jesus than when we are giving. Your generosity is the fuel that enables us to minister to others.

Prayer Request

Let us know how we can be praying for you this week.

Blessing Bucket Request

Have you seen the bright orange buckets in the foyer? They are our Blessing Buckets. If you know of someone who could use a little help, maybe a gas or grocery card, or even help with something like putting a lock on their front door, we can try to help! Fill out a Blessing Bucket request and a deacon will connect with you to get more details. Another way to be generous is to drop a couple of dollars in the Blessing Buckets to help fund these needs.
