Prophets: Learning by looking at the past.
Current Sermon Series | June 7 - August 30
Sometimes we think that the Prophets are scary and intimating, that we need some spiritual key to understand them. This summer, we hope to see that the Prophets are simply a telling of how God’s people struggled to live God’s way, how they broke God’s covenant with them, and how God continued to be their God, even when he sent them into exile in a foreign land. In their judgments, their pleading, their words of encouragement and words of warning, we can learn what God really wants for his people. And even though we are thousands of years removed from the prophets today, they continue to instruct us, revealing who our God really is – a God of justice, covenantal love, and grace.

BACKPACK CARNIVAL

Our church is hosting a Backpack Carnival for those in need of school supplies. Join us on Saturday at 11:00am for food, fun, games! We would love to have you join us.
TEXAS ROADHOUSE LUNCH

One Sunday a month, we make our way to Texas Roadhouse after our gathering for some great food and even better company. Whether you’re new or you’ve been around for years, it’s an easy (and delicious) way to connect.
To help us save enough seats, please register ahead of time and then come hungry!
LANSING LUGNUTS GAME
Saturday, August 22 | 7:05pm
Our church is going to the Lugnuts game on August 22. The game starts at 7:05pm and will conclude with fireworks after the game. You definitely want to join us! Tickets are $13 per person. You can get yours at the Welcome Kiosk or you can purchase them online.
BLOOD DRIVE
Friday, September 4 | South Lansing Christian Church | 9am - 2:30pm
Our blood drive will be held on Friday, June 12 at South Lansing Christian Church. Appointments are preferred, but walk-ins are welcome if the schedule allows. One blood donation can save up to three lives, and the blood you donate stays right here in our community, helping local patients when they need it most.
POTTER PARK ZOO NIGHT
Saturday, September 12 | 4:00pm
We’re kicking off our fall season this year by taking over the Potter Park Zoo! We’ll begin with dinner at the pavilion outside the zoo at 4:00 pm. Afterward, we’ll head into the zoo at 5:00 pm. We’ve rented the entire zoo for our exclusive use until 7:00 pm. Mark your calendar now and look for more information in the next week!
