Our Beliefs

What We Believe About God…

He is not only the Creator and Sustainer of the universe, but He is the Heavenly Father who loves each of us, God is the Father, Jesus Christ is the Son, and the Holy Spirit is God working in the believer’s life to make us what He wants us to be. (Please read John 1:1,2; 4:24; 5:18; and 10:30)

What We Believe About Jesus Christ…

This church believes Peter’s confession of Jesus: “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”  He is the one and only Lord and Savior. His death on the cross was for us, in our place, to reconcile us back to God. He was buried and rose from the tomb on the third day giving everyone who believes in Him hope of eternal life. The Bible tells us He is coming back again to this earth as King of kings and Lord of lords. (See: Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5; Hebrews 4:14-15; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Romans 1:3-4; John 14:6; and 1 Timothy 2:5)

What We Believe About The Holy Spirit…

He is God and He works in Christians to produce the fruit of Godly character: love, joy, peace, patience and other marks of spiritual life. Every Christian is given the gift of the Holy Spirit at conversion.  These gifts are to be used in building up the church.  The Bible tells us that He gives the believer the power for living, understanding Biblical truth, and daily guidance. (Read II Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-15; Ephesians 1:13; and Romans 8:9)

What We Believe About The Bible…

It is the infallible Word of God, written by men under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit of God.  It is the only Work of God to mankind. (Please See: II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:20-21; Psalm 119:105; Proverbs 30:5-6)

What We Believe About Salvation…

The Bible tells us that we are all sinners saved by the grace of a loving God.  There is no way we can earn salvation.  It is a free gift to anyone who will accept it.  We receive forgiveness and new life through…

  • Faith in Jesus Christ (Mark 16:16)

  • Repentance (turning from sin) (Acts 2:38; ACTS 17:30)

  • Confession of your belief in Jesus (Romans 10:9; Matthew 10:32)

  • Baptism into Christ (Romans 6:4; Galatians 3:27; Mark 16:16)

  • Living faithfully (Revelation 2:10)

What We Believe About Celebrating The Lord’s Supper Weekly…

We celebrate communion every Sunday as it was in the early church.  We invite all Christians, members and non-members, to share with us whenever we celebrate the Lord’s Supper. (Acts 20:7)

What Are The Requirements Of Membership?

Membership in the congregation is based upon faith in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, as Savior and Lord of your life.  We have no creed but Jesus.  Because baptism (the immersion in water of a repentant believer) was part of the conversion of men, women and children in the New Testament, it is a qualification for membership today.
