The State of the Church

This past Sunday we held our annual meeting during our worhsip gathering. We had a great time of singing and celebating who our God is. We also ordained a few new leaders. Frank Weller and Jim Hobbs were ordained as elders and Ken Coulter was ordained as a deacon.

During the message, Frank shared on the state of the church--where we have been the last year and where we are headed in 2014. If you would like to listen to that message, it is posted below.

At the end of our gathering, we passed out copies of the 2013 Annual report. You can view a digital copy of that document here.

Operation Donut Drop

This Christmas we wanted to do something for those who end up working through the holiday. There are plenty of people who work on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Think about it...doctors, nurses, cops, gas station attendants. and firefighters. We wanted to say thank you to them as they served.

Tonight our people passed out 120 dozen donuts across the Lansing area. We had people visiting places like Sparrow Hospital, the fire stations, nursing homes, and who knows where else!

Thank you church for being willing to take a moment out of your Christmas Eve festivities to bless others.  Thank you Meijer for partnering with us so we could bless others.  Thank you, those who received donuts, for doing what you do!

If you have a story to tell from this experience, please leave it in a comment below.

A New Beginning

We are in the process of creating a new home for South Lansing Christian Church on the web.  This is the new look.  Hopefully you are enjoying it.

With the new website, we now have a blog, where we'll put some comments from time to time.  We'll unpack the sermons ideas sometimes, or simply think out loud about faith and life being God's Kingdom.

We hope you enjoy the new website and find it useful.  We'd love to hear your comments!
