Michigan Statewide Teen Convention

The Basics

Michigan Statewide Teen Convention has been gathering youth groups of High School students together for a statewide convention for decades. Their mission is to bring the Christian teens of Michigan together for encouragement and to set them on a mission for the Gospel of Jesus. Statewide is organized by a group of committed youth ministers and volunteers each year through monthly planning meetings. It is our hope that this weekend helps students to develop as people and disciples of Christ through teaching, worship, and christian community.

Students stay at South Lansing Christian Church overnight and get transported to Great Lakes Christian College for the main sessions of the event. In between the main sessions, students engage in small group conversations and activities that are provided by the event staff or by the youth ministry volunteers.

Cost: $55 (This includes travel, housing, registration, and most of your students meals.)

Statewide runs from 5pm on Friday night to 11am on the following Sunday.

What to Bring?

  • Clothing/Toiletries/Shower Supplies/Towel/etc.

  • Coat/warm clothing for walking around Old Town and our picnic

  • Bible & Notebook

  • Missions Money: our mission for the weekend is Great Lakes Christian College, our host site this year.

  • Cash for lunch on Saturday (we'll be hitting up the local Lansing eateries) and optional money for merch.

  • Bedding (air mattress is recommended). We'll be sleeping on the floor back at our church each night.

Saturday

  • 7 am - Breakfast (Provided)

  • 8:30 - Statewide Session #2

  • 11:30 - Lunch in Old Town

  • 1:30 - Statewide Session #3

  • 3:30 - Coffee Break @ Meijer Capital City Market

  • 5:30 - Dinner (Provided)

  • 10:45 - Back to SLCC

  • 12am - Lights Out

Sunday

  • 6am - Breakfast (Provided)

  • 7am - Cleanup

  • 8:30 - Statewide Session #5

  • 11:30 - Pick up back at SLCC
